چکیده

Three hundred (300) 21d old (Arbor-acre) broiler chicks apportioned to five (5) dietary groups of sixty (60) birds each, further replicated six (6) times were fed graded levels toasted pigeon pea seed meal (TPSM) assess the performance, flock uniformity, organ weights, carcass yield and hepatic histology at finisher phase. A maize-full-fat soybean diet served as control (I). The TPSM was incorporated replace full-fat 12.5%, 25.0%, 37.5% 50.0% in diets II, III, IV V, respectively. Toasting improved protein content, ether extract, fibre metabolizable energy reduced anti-nutrients except for oxalate. final weight, total weight change, average gain, feed conversion ratio, eviscerated breast thigh significantly influenced (P<0.05), especially depressed 50% replacement, unlike intake, mortality uniformity (P>0.05). kidney abdominal fat also (P<0.05). There varying degeneration, which increased intensity level inclusion increased. They ranged from mild sinusoidal congestion cellular infiltration necrosis cells liver. Up replacement supported optimum growth, yield, moderate disruptions.

A study was carried out to evaluate nutrient intake and digestibility by West African Dwarf (WAD) sheep fed graded levels of dietary pigeon pea seed meal (PSM). Four diets designated A, B, C and D were formulated to contain 0, 10, 20, and 30% levels of PSM, respectively. Four WAD rams aged between 15 and 17 months and weighing between 16 and 19 kg were used to conduct digestibility study in a 4...
